Dive into a curriculum that lets you explore everything from literature and philosophy to physics and economics—before choosing your major in the 2nd year. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your critical thinking skills through writing, research, and real-world problem-solving.
With small class sizes, an active Centre for Writing & Communication, robust student support, and guidance from world-class faculty, you’ll find the guidance and support to push boundaries.

The Foundation Courses help students explore multiple disciplines in order to choose a subject they are passionate about and make an informed decision with regards to the majors and minors. The 9 mandatory courses that every student at Ashoka has to study are:
A Major is a discipline or area of study that a student focuses on while earning a Bachelor’s degree – either a B.A. (Honours) or a B.Sc. (Honours). Although students can take courses toward their Major starting from the second semester, they are only required to formally declare it at the end of the third semester. A minimum of 18 courses (equivalent to 72 credits) are required to complete a Major.

** Pending Approval
An interdisciplinary major at Ashoka goes beyond the traditional boundaries of disciplines and departments to give students an opportunity to combine multiple academic interests into a single degree programme.
Students can choose one or more minors in addition to their choice of major to pursue their multiple interests.
All Pure Majors can be chosen as Minors.
Co-curricular Courses are a mixture of practical training in an art form or a language, and critical analysis of the aesthetic, social, political, economic, and historical dimensions of the same.
